Adding A New Page To Your WordPress Website
Creating a page in WordPress is really simple, just follow the easy steps below and you will have an amazing professional looking website in no time.
Log in to your WordPress Dashboard:
Firstly you will need to login to your WordPress Admin Dashboard, by entering your sites URL into the browser followed by /wp-admin.
This will take you to your website’s login page where you can enter in your Username & Password.
If you’ve forgotten your password, just click the “Lost your Password” link at the bottom to reset it.
Tick the Remember me box if you want your browser to remember your login details. Don’t use this function on a public computer.

Create a New WordPress Page:
Great! Now you are ready to create a WordPress page. Browse down the menu on the left hand side of the page until you get to Pages. Hover over “Pages” then Click on “Add New” to initiate a new page. If you want to edit a page, Click on all pages.

Add a Title to Your WordPress Page:
Now you can add a title which will show at the very top of your pages content section. This title is important so be sure to use your targeted keywords here, depending on the page layout you’re using, this title is the h1 element which will be the first & main Heading of the page.
Why is the title important? Because it helps search engines to rank the web page & it gives your visitors a clue as to whether or not they have landed on the page they were looking for. Its also good practice to add your target keyword in the first paragraph, and again in an h2 element. If you’re not much of a coder or a designer, i would recommend that you use the Visual Composer plugin.

Adding Content to Your WordPress Page:
Visual Composer is a drag and drop page builder that doesn’t require any programming knowledge, so anyone can use it. It has a Back-end & a Front-end Editor, they both function in the same way, the only difference is that the back-end editor works from the WordPress Admin Area and the Front-end editor allows you to edit from the front view of your website. Visual Composer will help you style your website ‘like a pro’, it’s as simple as selecting elements from Visual Composer & dragging them to where you want them.
Play around with Visual Composer until you feel comfortable with it. Once you understand how Visual Composer works, you will be equipped with the tools to create a professional looking website.

Once you’ve created a Masterpiece hit the “Publish” button near the top right of the page. This will save the page on your server. If the page is not ready for the public to view it, just click on save draft & you can publish it later.

Adding the New Page to the Navigation Menu:
At this point your web page has been created, but it isn’t showing on the website because you haven’t linked to it yet.
To link to this page you will need to either add it to the menu or link to it from another page. It depends on what you are wanting to do.
To add this page to the Navigation Menu – Browse down the menu on the left until you see Appearance. Hover over Appearance & then click on Menus

Select “pages” to view a list of pages. Choose the “View All” tab to show all of the pages, now tick all the pages that you want to add to the menu, once you’ve done that, hit the “add to menu” button.

Under the “Menu Structure” section, locate your page.
You can now rearrange the order of the menu by dragging each item to where you want it.

Click the “Save Menu” button, and you’re done!
